A man has been fined after being caught with £60 worth of crack cocaine in Inverness.
Steven Ritchie pleaded guilty to possessing the class A drug during an appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 39-year-old of 58 Murray Terrace, Smithton, was caught with 0.9g of cocaine in his back pocket on India Street in Inverness on September 22 last year.
Fiscal depute Ross Carvel told the court he was stopped and searched by police acting on information.
Defence agent Marc Dickson said that Ritchie worked as a fisherman but work had been “erratic”.
He added that his client had received treatment for his drug use.
Sheriff Peter Grant-Hutchison fined Ritchie £450 for the offence.
