A man who verbally abused his wife has been told to keep his mouth shut and be polite in the future.
Steven Watt appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted acting in an abusive manner towards his wife.
The 33-year-old first offender argued with his wife over childcare at an address in St Combs on March 22.
Fiscal depute Jamie Dunbar said the couple had only been married for a year when Watt launched into a tirade, during which he swore at her and called her a “psycho”.
He was admonished by Sheriff Annella Cowan.
She told Watt, of 52 Mill Heugh Brae, Lanarkshire, to watch his behaviour in the future.
“Do you see the trouble you’ve caused?” she said. “Keep your mouth shut and don’t get into arguments, and if you must get into arguments be polite.”
