A 25-year-old father punched another man on the nose over claims he was bullying his son, Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday.
Liam McIntosh, of Vulcan Cottage on Great North Road, Muir of Ord, appeared from custody having been remanded in June and admitted assaulting Michael MacArthur from Strathpeffer to his injury.
The court was told Mr MacArthur sustained a bleeding and swollen nose but no fracture in the incident which occurred on March 18, last year in Ulladale Crescent, Strathpeffer.
Defence agent Neil Wilson said: “He had been receiving reports that his six-year-old son was being bullied by this man and it was his intention to speak to him about it.
“But the red mist descended and he punched the man once.”
McIntosh was jailed for 60 days backdated to June 13.
