A man who admitted supplying heroin on two separate occasions in Lerwick earlier this year has been remanded in custody and warned he is likely to face a prison term.
Peter John Henderson, of Grampian Prison, pleaded guilty to supplying the class A drug at the NorthLink Ferry Terminal and elsewhere on 8 April and at the town’s Ladies Drive and elsewhere on 13 May.
Both offences were committed while Henderson was on bail, which had been granted back in February.
At Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday, defence agent Tommy Allan asked Sheriff Philip Mann to defer sentence to allow Henderson’s regular lawyer the chance to represent him.
Sheriff Mann said that only seemed fair and agreed to adjourn the case until 17 August for a criminal justice social inquiry report.
Remanding Henderson in custody, the sheriff warned him: “I have to say the most likely outcome is a custodial sentence.”
