Councillors are being urged to back plans for a new substation in Boddam.
Scottish Hydro Electric Transmissions wants to build the substation near an existing one at Newton of Sandford.
The development would allow the safe transmission of renewable energy from a range of terrestrial and offshore schemes which have been approved in recent years.
It would also increase the generation for Peterhead Power Station.
Tommy Hart, from Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission, previously told members of the Buchan area committee that the scheme was “integral” to improving transmission across the north-east.
Similar plans were approved in 2014, but the consent has now lapsed.
In his report to full council, director of infrastructure Stephen Archer said the “benefits” would be realised beyond Aberdeenshire.
However, the document acknowledges there may be issues around loss of amenity and has suggested various conditions be attached to also protect the environment.
Only two properties are in the site for the development, one of which is owned by the company and the other made no objection.
The full council will consider the application when they meet at Woodhill House on Thursday.
