Cyclist dies following rush hour crash near Fort William

A cyclist has died following a rush hour collision with a lorry on a busy road near Fort William.
The A82 has been closed in both directions in the Lochaber town following the incident at the entrance to Jewson builders merchants.
The crash took place at about 5.15pm.
Police have now confirmed a male cyclist has died.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police advise that the A82 remains closed on the north side of Fort William following a collision involving a cyclist and a lorry, which occurred around 5.15pm this evening.
“Sadly, the male cyclist has died as a result of his injuries. As part of the on-going inquiries, officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or the cyclist on the road prior to the collision to make contact via 101.”
The road remains closed.
