A pensioner with a neighbour issue has been made subject to a supervision order.
William McKeaveney, 65, admitted two charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards Hamish McAlpine.
The offences occurred on July 21 and 22nd when the accused spoke to him in their respective gardens in Grove Lane, Thurso, Wick Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
McKeaveney was said to have warned Mr McApline on one occasion to close his garden gate to keep his dog in, or he “would smash his face in.”
The accused appeared from custody yesterday and pleaded guilty to breaching a court order on Thursday, banning him from approaching or contacting his neighbour.
Sheriff Andrew Berry, who saw a background report, observed that McKeaveney was “not without difficulties” and noted he had not been in trouble for 38 years.
The accused was again warned not to approach or contact Mr McAlpine by the sheriff who imposed the supervision for six months and added: “Hopefully that will be an end to the matter and you can get on with the rest of your life.”
