Jamila Patel was last seen boarding the pedestrian ferry from John O’Groats to Orkney at the start of the month. The 41-year-old is believed to have travelled to Caithness in a black 4×4, which she left on the mainland. Ms Patel is from the Lancashire area and speaks with a north-west English accent. She is described as being Asian, about 5ft 6in, with slim build and brown hair. She sometimes wears glasses but it is not known what she was wearing when she was last seen. A police spokeswoman said: “Concern is growing for Ms Patel, with inquiries being carried out in Caithness and Orkney. “Officers are appealing for anyone with information on her whereabouts to make contact via 101.”
