Police in Lochaber are appealing for information after a brazen thief walked out of a busy works canteen with a large charity collection bottle containing about £250.
Acting Inspector Andy Bilton said the bottle was removed from the canteen of the Highland Council’s roads department at Carrs Corner in Fort William between 10.30am and 5.30pm on Monday September 12.
He said: “This is a particularly cruel incident, given the fact that it was money being raised by local employees for charity and someone has chosen to steal it during daylight hours.
“The canteen was open during the day, with people coming and going.”
Anyone with any information of this incident is urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or online.
