A woman had to be cut free from her car after colliding with a lorry on the A9.
Emergency services headed out to the scene just south of the Evanton junction at around 5.28pm.
Three Scottish Fire and Rescue Service units were in attendance, as well as police and two ambulances.
Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the woman, who is in her 40s, free from the car before they were handed into the care of paramedics.
She was then taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness in a stable condition. She was complaining of back pain, a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman added.
The incident involved a black Mercedes CLA220 and a lorry.
A second goods vehicles also appeared to have been involved, with a load of large metal sheets spilled over the carriageway.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours.
