Miss Aberdeen Ursula Carlton had landed the UK crown in a national beauty competition.
The 26-year-old design assistant from Nairn looked stunned as it sunk in she had won the prestigious title after strutting her stuff during the finals held at Leicester’s Athena on Friday.
Fifty of the country’s most glamorous ladies battled it out for the top prize donning skimpy bikinis and elegant gowns.
A panel, including Miss Great Britain 2015 Deone Robertson and former X-Factor contestant Jake Quickenden, were tasked with picking a champion out of the hopefuls.
And Ursula, a design assistant from Nairn, near Inverness, who dazzled in a turquoise gown, claimed first prize after fending off competition from the other girls.
She said: “I feel incredibly honoured to be given this opportunity to be an ambassador for the Miss Great Britain brand and to be representing Great Britain in the Miss Tourism World Final in December.
“I aim to inspire young girls to chase their dreams, regardless of where they come from, their appearances or social background, to encourage them that anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
“I would like to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the other finalists for voting for me as Miss Personality, the judges and finally Kate, Jemma and the team at Miss GB.”
She qualified for the finals after being named Miss Aberdeen in August.
Ursula will now be whisked off on all expenses paid for trip to represent GB in the International Final of Miss Tourism World.
She will also be handed a prize hamper worth more than £7,000.
The show was organised by ModelZed Events for the fourth year running since owner Kate Solomons became the National Director in 2012.
Kate said: “The standard was extremely high this year and the judges found it very difficult.
“However they all agreed that Ursula, who is clearly a very beautiful girl, also possessed all of the characteristics we would look for in a Miss Great Britain such as a warm personality, a genuinely kind nature and a hard working ethic.
“The event was a wonderful evening which helped to raise a wonderful amount for our chosen charity and we were delighted to have attracted such an esteemed panel of judges.
“We are looking for to getting to know Ursula and working with her this year.”
Miss Central London April Banbury and Miss Northumberland Imogen Mitchell were the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
