A north MSP has hit out at referral times for urology and orthopeadic patients in the Highlands.
Edward Mountain said he was concerned that waiting times to get a urology operation can be as much as 80 weeks.
Scottish Conservative Mr Mountain said: “I am told that in most cases the 18 week target time limit from seeing a surgeon to getting an operation is, within the Highlands, met within the allowed tolerances.”
“But that hides the real problem: the time it takes for the referral.”
“The wait from seeing your GP to getting an orthopaedic operation will be a year and quarter and somewhat nearer two years for a urology operation”
