Plans to build a new 3-18 education campus in Tain are being put out for public consultation.
Highland Council intends to replace the existing Tain Royal Academy as well as Craighill and Knockbreck primaries and St Duthus Special School.
Sites at Craighill Primary, Tain Royal Academy and Kirksheaf Road in Tain will all be considered.
The four week consultation will start next month, with drop-in sessions among the events planned.
A report will then go to Highland Council’s education, children and adult services committee in August, when a decision will be made on the proposals.
Committee chairman Councillor Alasdair Christie said: “Although the capital programme is fully committed until autumn 2016, it is important that we consult in the meantime to ensure that we have all the information available to members in 2016 so that they can decide which of the schools projects will be next under the council’s Sustainable Schools Estate Review.”
