A 59-year-old Moray man has admitted driving while more than four times the legal drink drive limit.
Allan McWilliam, of Conval Street, Dufftown, admitted the charge at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Fiscal depute Stewart MacIver told the court that McWilliam had been involved in an accident on the A95 road, one mile west of Grantown, on the afternoon of December 8, 2015, and was then taken to Raigmore Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Mr MacIver said that a blood sample was taken before his hospital procedure took place that same evening, adding that a “partially consumed vodka bottle” was found by police in his car.
McWilliam’s defence solicitor, John McCall, said that his client works as an electrical contractor and earns £800 a week.
Mr McCall added: “Mr McWilliam has realised he has an issue with alcohol and has already sought assistance.”
Sheriff David Stewart deferred sentence for the production of a background report and ordered an interim disqualification from driving. McWilliam is due to appear for sentence on November 3.
