Police have warned football fans not to bring any flares, smoke bombs or firecrackers to Ross County’s showdown with Celtic.
A bumper crowd is expected in Dingwall tonight as the Glasgow giants arrive in town for the Scottish Premiership clash.
Police Commander Chief Inspector Iain MacLelland urged supporters of both clubs to enjoy the match responsibly.
“The majority of fans will be there to enjoy the match and want to do so in a safe and secure environment,” he said.
“With this in mind, police and the football clubs would like to issue a reminder of the risks associated with bringing pyrotechnics into football grounds.
“Pyrotechnics of any kind have serious public safety implications for those carrying them and the general public; anyone found with these items in their possession will face severe consequences, which may include a criminal record and football banning orders.”
He added: “I would encourage fans arrive at the ground in plenty of time and that there will be a road closure in place at the Station Road-Ferry Road junction between 7.15pm and 7.45pm.
“We will have officers deployed in Dingwall before and after the match checking licensed premises and helping fans get to the stadium safely.
“Please remember that officers will be working closely with stewards, and supporters who come to the ground drunk will not be permitted entry to the stadium and could be arrested.”
