A lifeboat crew braved fierce gales and seas today to ferry a sick patient to hospital.
Oban Lifeboat was launched at 4.19pm to go to Craignure on Mull where a waiting ambulance transferred the patient.
The lifeboat then headed back to Oban where the person was taken to Lorn and the Isles Hospital. Their condition is unknown.
It was the third call out in as many days for Oban’s new lifeboat coxswain Richard Johnson – and all to the same island.
On Monday the crew transferred a man from Mull with chest pains.
Then a few hours later – early on Tuesday – the Scottish Ambulance Service again needed the lifeboat to transfer another ill man from Mull. All were taken to Lorn and the Isles Hospital.
