Man caught with drugs as he made his way to Skye music festival

A 30 year old Crieff man who was caught by police with over 12 grams of cocaine on his way to the Isle of Skye music festival is facing a jail sentence.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that the class A narcotic was worth £650.
Patrick Welsh (30), of Sauchie Place, Crieff, was a passenger in a car which was stopped on the Invergarry – Uig road at Cluanie as part of a road traffic check on April 29, this year.
Welsh admitted illegal possession of the drug. Asked by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood: “Why did you have this quantity of cocaine?” Welsh replied: “It was for use over three days sir.”
The sheriff deferred sentence until January 5 for a background report and told Welsh: “This report is necessary because of where you might be going.
