Thirteen people from the Highlands and islands were among 1,197 people to be acclaimed in the New Year Honours list.
A number of famous names were also included on the list including Tennis star Andy Murray and Aberdeen rower Katherine Grainger.
In total 322 BEMs, 503 MBEs and 222 OBEs have been announced.
