A man’s body has been found in a wooded area of Inverness-shire.
The body was found near Tomich by a member of the public around 3.30pm yesterday.
The man is yet to be identified but police are liasing with the family of Cornelius Van Der Wetering, a Dutchman who was reported missing yesterday.
He was due to have been walking from Tomich towards Kyle.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 3.30pm yesterday emergency services were alerted by a member of the public to a man’s body in a wooded area near the village of Tomich, Inverness-shire.
“Officers attended and located the body of a man in his fifties.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
“Officers are liaising with the family of Cornelius Van Der Wetering, from the Netherlands, who police were keen to trace to confirm his wellbeing.
“Members of the public are thanked for their response to the earlier appeal to help trace Mr Van Der Wetering.”
