A woman was airlifted to hospital at the weekend after falling 30ft from cliffs in Caithness.
The alarm was raised after the incident at South Head in Wick.
Wick Lifeboat received a call at 4.30am on Saturday to launch to Wick Bay.
Police and coastguard teams located the casualty and the lifeboat then illuminated the area with its searchlights, allowing paramedics to attend to the person before being winched to the coastguard rescue helicopter from Inverness.
The casualty, thought to be in her 30s, was then flown to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The woman’s condition is unknown.
Wick lifeboat coxswain Ian Cormack said the woman was “stable” when she was taken away by helicopter, adding: “She was never in the water. She had fallen down onto a grass ledge and there is a footpath that goes down to the side.
“We provided illumination for paramedics and coastguard teams.”
