Four hillwalkers have been rescued after being stranded by severe weather on Ben Lomond.
Two were picked up at around 3pm yesterday by a coastguard helicopter high up on the 3,196ft (974 metre) Munro.
Lomond Mountain Rescue Team located two others on the lower slopes.
Police and the coastguard were also involved in the operation.
Forecasters have warned of 80mph winds and frequent snow showers in the area and mountaineering experts have warned people to take care when planning activities in such areas.
A post on the rescue team’s Facebook page said: “Ben Lomond incident resolved. Two walkers rescued from near the summit of Ben Lomond, in challenging conditions, by Rescue 999 Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
“The second pair were located and rescued by Lomond Mountain Rescue Team personnel to waiting team vehicles.”
