Footage of an unwell fishing captain being winched from his vessel in rough seas has been released by coastguards.
The coastguard helicopter flew to the vessel, which was 80 nautical miles north of Cape Wrath in the Highlands, after the crew called for help at 1.30pm yesterday.
The captain was winched from the Annelies Ilena at 2.45pm and was flown to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, Lewis.
Footage of the rescue was posted on the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Twitter account.
The MCA said: “The crew contacted UK Coastguard at about 1.30pm yesterday and plans were set in motion to airlift the captain as soon as possible.
“Although the sea conditions were rough, the captain informed us that the vessel crew were well organised which meant that the winch job went quickly and smoothly.”
