A 29-year-old man from Lerwick has appeared in court charged with forcing his former partner into a bin and removing a two-year-old child from her grasp.
Nicholas Gifford, of the town’s Holmsgarth Road, had his case continued without plea until February 15 by honorary sheriff Willie Shannon at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon.
He is charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by seizing a pram handle, attempting to remove the pram from his ex partner, attempting to remove a two-year-old child from the pram, forcing his ex into a bin and removing the child from her grasp.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on Sunday. Gifford is further charged with assaulting his ex-partner by repeatedly pushing her on the body before assaulting another woman by pushing her on the body.
