Police have today launched an investigation following a break-in and theft at a Highland foodbank.
The charity’s premises on Lower Dunbar Street, Wick, were broken into some time before 4pm on Sunday, January 22 and 12.15pm yesterday.
Police believe entry was forced and several food items were taken from the premises.
Area Inspector Nick Clasper said: “Theft of any kind is deplorable but this incident is particularly disappointing in that thieves have chosen to target a charity; run by selfless volunteers to provide support to those in need within our local community.
“We would encourage anyone with information on this incident to report it either to Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”
