A recommendation to close the mothballed Kinbrace Primary School will be considered at a full Highland Council meeting in March.
Education committee members yesterday agreed to recommend a re-assignment of its catchment area to Helmsdale Primary with a small area around Forsinard being reassigned to Melvich Primary.
The committee had considered the outcome of a statutory consultation and responses received.

Kinbrace Primary School has been mothballed since the end of the 2012-13 session.
If ratified, the council will advise Scottish Government ministers of the decision and follow procedures required by legislation.
