A woman remains missing following a fire at her home in Sutherland.
Police and fire officers have so far been unable to enter the house at Sangomore in the Durness area because of concerns about its structural integrity.
It’s occupant, named locally as Edith Allan, remains unaccounted for following the blaze in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police have been in contact with her next of kin.
A joint investigation between the fire service and police will be held in due course to establish the circumstances.
Detective Inspector Richard Baird has confirmed that early inquiries suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances.
