The family of a man missing at Loch Awe in Argyll have said that police believe he has drowned.
Joachim Brolly, 59, owner of Torran Bay Hostel at Ford, by Loch Awe, was last seen going out on a boat on March 9.
The last sighting of him was at the south end of the loch where he got into a boat at the hostel.
A post on the hotel’s Facebook page yesterday said: “I’m sorry to have to let you know that the police search for our dad (Joachim) has come to an end today without them being able to find him.
“Unfortunately they do believe he has drowned in the loch. The police have been fantastic. We are extremely disappointed that he cannot be found and we cannot believe this has happened.
“Thank you all for your kind thoughts and messages at this sad time. The hostel will reopen this weekend (March 25) and we will try to get used to life without him. I hope you understand that we were too upset to post anything on FB previously.”
A police spokeswoman said: “There is still an active missing person investigation. Inquiries are ongoing.”
