The road had been blocked in both directions between Thurso and Lybster, close to the Forss House Hotel, for around 20 minutes shortly after 11pm. Once police arrived on the scene they managed to have one lane open by around 11:30pm. The other lane was cleared around 1:05am. Police could not confirm the number of vehicles involved or if anyone had been injured.
