A woman was so grateful to be rescued from a Highland loch she blew kisses at the surprised crew of a Coastguard helicopter.
The Coastguard recently received a call from a member of the public reporting two people in a dinghy might be in difficulty in Loch Broom near Ullapool in Wester Ross.
“Sometimes we get thank you letters, sometimes we get kisses when we need it most….in fact that’s exactly what our Stornoway Coastguard helicopter got from one lovely lady in a dinghy….. after her and her partner needed a little help on Loch Broom,” said a spokesman for the MCA.
“So we sent in the Ullapool coastguard, RNLI Lochinver Lifeboat, Achiltibuie Inshore Rescue Team and the Ullapool Harbour workboat to the scene. We also sent the UK Coastguard helicopter based at Stornaway just in case.
“As you can see the couple were safe and well and towed to safety by the Ullapool Harbour workboat. Great work all round and thanks for brightening our weekend with a kiss!”
