The provider of sexual health clinical and education services for young people in the Highlands has changed.
A new partnership between Highland Sexual Health of NHS Highland and Waverley Care will ensure under-25s can keep accessing drop-in clinics and wider support without a break in service.
It follows a decision by Brook to discontinue its current contract with NHS Highland after 21 years.
This is understood to be the result of a decision at national level.
North25 is the new name for the clinical services managed by Highland sexual Health, providing pregnancy testing and contraception, including emergency contraception, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, counselling and support.
These services will continue to be provided from 57 Church Street in Inverness.
Under the new arrangements, Waverley Care will be responsible for delivering sexual health education programmes aimed at young people and professionals.
All of these services will receive core funding through NHS Highland.
Staff from Brook are working closely with colleagues from NHS Highland and Waverley Care to ensure the effective transfer of services.
Clinical services transferred with immediate effect on April 1 and anyone seeking to access these services should contact Highland Sexual Health on 01463 888 300.
