Possibly one of the oldest councillors in Scotland, 89-year-old Donnie MacMillan was re-elected. The Mid Argyll ward member of Argyll and Bute Council turns 90 in October. He has served as a councillor for 32 years. Mr MacMillan, an independent, said: “I might be the oldest councillor in Argyll and Bute, but I’m definitely the youngest at heart. “I am delighted to be back again and that people have put their faith in me. “I carry out my duties in a non political nature, I’m available any time to anyone and I am always around the Lochgilphead area.”
