The quality of care at a Sutherland care home under new management has been praised.
Manager Ian Blackhall had only been in post at Caladh Sona Care Home in Talmine for a few months when the home was subject to an unannounced inspection in February.
The team at the six-bed residential home achieved the same results as when the Care Inspectorate made a previous visit in October 2015.
The gome was praised for its quality of care and the welcoming nature of staff.
Lorraine Coe, NHS Highland’s Sutherland district manager, said: “The retention of the grades is a real positive for Caladh Sona as this is Ian’s first post as a care home manager and he has only been in post a few short months.
“The fact that the grades remained the same is an achievement for a new manager coming into post, so my congratulations to Ian and the fantastic team at Caladh Sona for this performance and the high level of care they offer on a daily basis.”
Mr Blackhall, manager of Calahd Sona, added: “The staff at Caladh Sona have worked incredibly hard to achieve a very high standard of care for our residents. Both the care inspectors commented to me, on numerous occasions, how nice and professional the staff were.”
