Stornoway coastguard said they received a radio call about the incident about 12 miles south-east of the port. Stornoway rescue helicopter was mobilised and the lifeboat attended the scene at 4.15pm. A coastguard coastal rescue team was also summoned to man a landing site. The casualty was transferred to the helicopter and taken to a waiting ambulance at Stornoway airport. The crew member was being treated at Western Isles Hospital and there was no update on his condition last night.
