A man has died in hospital after police were called to a Highland home early this morning.
Officers went to a house in the Willowbank area of Wick at around 3.25am after a “man took unwell”.
A police spokesman said: “The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Caithness General Hospital where he sadly later died.
“Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and there will be a continued police presence in the area. There is no wider threat to the community and there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. The man’s next of kin have been informed of his death.
“Anyone who was in the Willowbank area around the time is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number NJ583/17 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
