Members of a ferry crew in Lochaber have been praised for coming to the aid of a motorist who had taken ill.
The Corran ferry was waiting at the slipway at Ardgour on the Ardnamurchan peninsula for vehicles to arrive for the journey to Nether Lochaber, when a visitor driving a motorhome said he felt very unwell.
He said he wanted to go to the Belford Hospital in Fort William, so the crew took him across Loch Linnhe immediately then offered to drive him to the hospital.
By this time, the tourist had recovered sufficiently to continue by himself but, when he returned home, he wanted to make sure the ferry crew knew just how grateful he was for their help.
He e-mailed the Lochaber Transport Forum to explain what had happened and to give his thanks to the ferry staff.
He said: “Please pass this on to the great crew. They are the best.”
The Corran ferry is operated by Highland Council and the ferry runs every 20-30 minutes, seven days a week, from 6.30am to 9.30pm.
