An isles activist has urged fellow politicians not to allow the latest terrorist attack to affect their election campaigning.
Orkney and Shetland independent candidate Stuart Hill said: “Allowing our lives to be disrupted in any way by such activity, no matter where it comes from, is inviting another attack.
“The best way to show respect for those injured or killed is to carry on as if nothing has happened.
“For my own part, my heart goes out to those affected and their families and I will show my compassion by not allowing this event to come in the way of the democratic process.”
There are five other candidates in the constituency – Miriam Brett (SNP), Robina Barton (Labour), Alistair Carmichael (Liberal Democrat), Jamie Halcro-Johnston (Conservative) and Robert Smith (Ukip).
