A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital following a collision with another motorbike and a car.
The man was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with what a police spokeswoman said were ”potentially life-threatening injuries” following the crash on the A87 Shiel Bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh road.
It happened just north of Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie at about 3.25pm this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said: “We attended a serious road traffic collision near Dornie. The incident involved two motorcycles and a car. One of the motorcyclists was airlifted to hospital.
She added: “In terms of injuries, they are thought to be serious and potentially life-threatening.
“The road is closed and we are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.”
A Scottish Ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at 3.29pm to attend a road traffic collision on the A87 near Dornie.
“We dispatched one crew member and our helimed air ambulance to the scene.
“One male patient was taken to Raigmore Hospital by coastguard helicopter.”
The road has been closed and a 109-mile diversion has been put in place.
