Councillors are being steered by planning officials to grant permission for a car park extension at Skye’s Talisker distillery when they meet in Inverness today.
The proposal was deferred after a narrow vote at a meeting in April, to allow more consideration of distiller Diageo’s planning application.
The drinks giant hopes to extend the existing overspill visitors’ car park to accommodate a total of 56 spaces for cars and five for campervans, and to provide safer pedestrian access between the parking area and the visitor centre at Carbost.
Alterations are also planned for the entrance into the existing overspill car park from the public road, along with reconfiguration of the layout and extension to the overspill car park including a dedicated pedestrian footpath lit by low-level lights.
