There was a record entry this year for the Lochaber Provincial Mòd – Mòd Ionadail Loch Abar – with around 250 children taking part in the popular competition.
The event was held in Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar, the local Gaelic school in Caol, and a total of 60 competitions were held altogether.
These included solo singing, choral, action songs, traditional songs, drama, poetry recitation, conversation as well as accordion, fiddle, bagpipes, chanter and folk music.
Moira Robertson, a member of the organising committee, said: “This year we saw entries from schools who have never taken part in Mòds before and the feedback from everyone has been really positive.
“The judges all commented on the high standard of performances and were very encouraging towards the children.
“Everyone is now looking forward to the Royal National Mòd which is being held in Lochaber in October for the first time since 2007.”
