A revised Highland Council five-year Gaelic plan will go out to public consultation from next week.
The draft document sets out its ambitions for the language and Gaelic culture, outlining plans for new initiatives and targets.
The council has pledged to increase Gaelic use and the number of Gaelic speakers, and to enhance the image of the language.
Council leader Margaret Davidson said: “The draft plan builds on and enhances our ongoing commitments, successes and achievements in developing and sustaining Gaelic and cultural development.
“I urge people to get involved and let us know their thoughts and ideas.”
The plan is online onthe Highland Council website. Copies can also be viewed at public and mobile libraries.
Consultation meetings are planned for June 19 – 7pm, The Venue, Portree High School; June 20 – 7pm, Community Room, Bun-Sgoil Ghaidhlig Lochaber, Caol; June 26 – 7pm, Dingwall Academy meeting room and June 27 – 7pm, Thurso High School meeting room.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on July 25.
