Police are appealing for witnesses following two assaults in Tain town centre at the weekend.
The incidents happened at Castle Brae at about 2am on Sunday as patrons made their way home from a nightclub.
They resulted in two men, aged 25 and 27, sustaining injuries to their heads.
A man officers would like to speak to in relation to the incidents has been described as white, approximately 20-years-old, 5ft 11 ins tall, stocky build, with dark hair.
He is believed to have been wearing a blue shirt, jeans and Adidas trainers.
A second man officers would also like to speak to is described as white, approximately 20-years-old, 5ft 9ins tall, stocky build with short light brown hair.
He was believed to have been wearing jeans and a jacket described as red/orange/maroon.
The jacket is distinctively described as having “goggles” on the back of the hood.
Inspector Jamie Wilson, of the Sutherland and Easter Ross community policing team, said: “We are still trying to establish the full facts but I believe that a number of people would have seen what happened.
“These were particularly nasty assaults and I am appealing for anyone who can assist our investigation to contact us as soon as possible.
“We are especially keen to here from anyone who may have seen a group of individuals fighting or heard a disturbance.
“If you saw anything that might be linked to this incident or if you have heard something about it, please contact the police and share that information.”
