A fire broke out yesterday in the engine room of a fishing boat in the north west Highlands.
The vessel caught fire out at sea, north of the village of Scourie, halfway between Ullapool and Durness.
A Scottish Fire Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call to say there was a fire in the engine room of the fishing boat which was off the coast of Scourie at the time.
“Crews from Kinlochbervie and Durness left around 12.30pm to check over the vessel which made its way back to the slipway at Scourie.
“It was a fairly minor incident and they waited until the engine on the boat had cooled down.”
A spokesman for HM Coastguard based at Stornoway added: “A fire broke out on a fishing boat near Scourie, but everyone is safe and well.”
