Aspiring tennis players could be an ace away from partnering Andy Murray if they show up for a practice session in Inverness next week.
The star’s tennis coach mother Judy will be in town to promote the sport and a prize draw offering a place alongside Andy in a foursomes match later this year against his brother Jamie and herself.
Inverness Tennis Club is the latest to participate in the SSE #Teamup promotion which has been making its way across Scotland.
Fans interested in the competition will have to film themselves playing keepie-up with a tennis racket and ball for 10 seconds. The draw is open to anyone over 12.
The video must be uploaded to social media, tagging @SSE in the post. The hashtags #TeamUp and #AMLive17 must also be used.
The prize match is at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on November 7.
Judy Murray will be at the Inverness club between 10am and noon next Thursday. (AUG 17)
Ailsa Polworth, manager of the 570-member club, said: “It’s created quite a buzz. Members are wanting to put btheir names in the hat.
“A lot of people have said even if they’re not on the court they’d love to come and watch just to be part of the day.
“It’s obviously a big event for the club. We’ve never had Judy Murray here, so it’s a massive opportunity.”
Mrs Murray has joked that she will be on the other side of the net in the November match “so, whoever the lucky winner is will have to be on top of their game,” adding that “it should be a lot of fun.”
