Emergency services were called out to a bus on fire earlier this morning.
Fire crews attended the scene on the A9 around a mile north of the Tore roundabout just before 6am.
A fire spokeswoman said two pumps, two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze. Crews had the incident under control by 6.33am.
The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the situation.
Traffic Scotland has now confirmed the road has re-opened.
The Stagecoach bus was in service, travelling from Inverness to Dingwall, when the fire was discovered.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach North Scotland said: “The fire service attended an incident involving one of our vehicles this morning at around 6am on the A9.
“There were no passengers on board the bus at the time and nobody was injured. Safety is our absolute priority and we will carry out a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident.”
