A 33-year-old hillwalker died in Glen Coe yesterday.
He was airlifted by the Inverness based Coastguard search and rescue helicopter after suddenly collapsing on his trek.
“Police were called to the Three Sisters area of Glen Coe near the Lost Valley at 12.13pm following concern for a hillwalker,” said a Police Scotland spokesman.
“Sadly a 33-year-old man has died. He was recovered from the scene by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter Rescue 951. Next of kin are aware and there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
The Lost Valley was where the Macdonalds were supposed to have hid the cattle they had rustled from their neighbours.
It is the second mountain tragedy to hit the area in a month. On August 2 a man in running gear plunged nearly 100 feet to his death from a hill track.
Stuart Thomson, from Bathgate in West Lothian, fell near to what was a film set for Harry Potter and other movies.
Police Scotland said emergency services were called to the area near Clachaig Inn at Glencoe.
Nine members of Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team were sent when walkers raised the alarm after the 54-year-old’s fatal fall on Aonach Eagach.
The accident happened near Clachaig Gully – but not in the gully.
