An appeal has been issued after batteries were stolen from a number of rural properties in the Highlands.
The thefts took place sometime between 5pm on Wednesday, September 6 and 6.30am on Thursday, September 7.
Two incidents have been reported over that period which occurred at rural properties near Dornoch.
Batteries for vehicles and farm equipment were taken as well as fuel from one of the properties.
Officers are investigating and are appealing for any information.
Constable Iain Forbes said: “We are appealing to anyone who saw any people or vehicles acting suspiciously to let us know as soon as possible.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to ask other businesses and householders in the area to make sure that their property and belongings are secure.
