Staff from Morrisons construction have been helping to make the lives of people suffering with mental health brighter by redecorating their local recovery centre.
A total of 12 members of the construction company transformed The Centre for Mental Health Recovery in Bruce Gardens as part of their employee volunteering programme.
Staff repainted two rooms in the property, the main common room and the kitchen before making improvements to the wooden benches and planters in the garden area.
Jill Nielson, Deputy Manager of Centre for Mental Health Recovery, said: “Our sincere thanks go to all the Morrison volunteers for giving up a day to help redecorate at Bruce Gardens. The results are wonderful and will be enjoyed by everyone.”
The centre focuses on patient recovery and incorporates drop-in facilities for residents being referred to the facility by their local GP.
Sally Cooper, CSR Manager for Morrison Construction, added: “Morrison works in the heart of communities providing vital services to people. This initiative is an opportunity to give something back to the community, the clients we serve and the neighbours we work beside
“The team has thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working on this project and is particularly heartened to understand the positive impact the refreshed facilities will play.
