Following the news that a new factory which will create 400 jobs and give the economy of Fort William a massive boost could get underway next year, we asked members of the public what they thought of the plans:
“I think it is really something that is required for the area. We have got to think of the future generations. This will provide jobs.”
John Park, 78, Fort William. Retired construction foreman
“We need these type of jobs in order to maintain Fort William. We have retail jobs but we need to continue to have skilled jobs. I would like to see the research facility plan being developed.”
Liz Tangney, 50, Fort William. Nurse
“I think this is brilliant. It is good for the area. They are using natural resources, ie the water. We need stable employment for the future of the area.”
Dougald McPhail, 76, Inverlochy. Retired ambulance service worker
