VisitScotland has welcomed British Airways’ announcement that it will increase the number of flights from Heathrow to Inverness next year.
From next March the airline will operate 10 flights a week from London to the Highlands, up from seven flights a week.
Chris Taylor, VisitScotland’s Regional Partnerships Director for the Highlands, said: “Tourism is more than a holiday experience – it is integral to sustaining communities across Scotland by generating income, creating jobs and stimulating social change.
“We are delighted, therefore, to see more flights arriving into Inverness from Heathrow. Not only will this provide a boost for domestic tourism and business but, as a key global hub, these additional services is great news for connectivity and will allow more overseas visitors to enjoy an onward trip to the beautiful Scottish Highlands.”
