A teenager from Islay lifted the Highland Society of London Trophy for solo singing at the Mod yesterday.
Ryan Johnston from Bowmore won the boys aged 16-18 years event in Fort William.
And his win was even more special as it marked the 10th anniversary of his first visit to the Mod – when it was held in Lochaber in 2007.
Ryan, 16, a pupil at Islay High School said: “I was six when I came to the Mod in Fort William so it was great to win here. I have been singing since I was very small and belong to the English choir at school and the Islay adult choir.
“I also sang in the junior Gaelic choir competition here on Monday and we got a win and two second places.”
